Cóndores add six for Māori match

Chile coach Pablo Lemoine has added six players to his training camp for the match against the Māori All Blacks in Santiago. The reinforcements come after the Cóndores were defeated 38-21 by a Sudamérica XV last weekend.

Loosehead prop Vittorio Lastra arrives from Italian club Verona, the only one of the six based outside Chile. Two uncapped players earn their first senior selections in hooker Augusto Böhme and flanker Vicente Contreras, the latter joining twin brother Tomás in the squad.

The other additions are 20-year-old scrumhalf Domingo Saavedra and a pair of midfielders – Vicente Ayarza and José Ignacio Larenas. Ayarza is the younger brother of France-based prop Ramón while Larenas captained the team in both the Americas Rugby and South American Championships.

Dropping out of the squad are loosehead prop Javier Carrasco, hooker Francisco Pizarro, second row Mario Mayol, scrumhalf Juan Pablo Perrotta, and winger Juan Pablo Larenas.

Meanwhile the Māori have summoned Northland halfback Sam Nock, a New Zealand u20 cap, with both Jonathan Ruru and Brad Weber unavailable for the match in Chile.

Saturday’s match at the Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo will have a full house in attendance. Live broadcasts will be available locally on Canal 13 and over the web on All Blacks TV.
