Hours out from the USA facing Samoa flanker John Quill has been forced out of the match. The 28-year-old with 27 caps has made way for Hanco Germisuhys who has been elevated from the reserves.
Germisuhys will earn his 9th cap today. Known as the ‘Terminator’, Germisuhys has 7 wins from his 8 caps for the USA Eagles. He has an impressive return of 5 tries. His wins have come against Brazil, Canada, Chile, Russia, Scotland, and Uruguay.
The vacant bench spot against Samoa has gone to Psalm Wooching. The Hawaiian made his international debut against Chile earlier this year in the Americas Rugby Championship (ARC).
Quill’s absence also sees an opportunity for Nick Boyer. The uncapped Boyer was a member of the USA Junior All-Americans that won the 2012 World Rugby U20 Trophy in Salt Lake City. He has played for the USA Rugby Selects and the USA 7’s at the HSBC World Sevens Series.
