Pro D2 – Week 11 Preview

Despite an overcrowded weekend of November Internationals there will be a regular round of the Pro D2. Week 11 of France’s second division will be see matches played on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The following preview documents the involvement of Americas’ players.

The one and only Thursday fixture sees Carcassonne at home against Brive. Argentina second-rower Demián Panizzo will feature from the bench for the home side. Missing for the visitors is 2016 Olympian Axel Muller.

On Friday three South Americans will start for Mont de Marsan against Vannes. Uruguayan Agustín Ormaechea has been named at scrum-half while Carlos Muzzio and Jerónimo Negrotto are to combine to be the starting props.

Also starting in the front-row with be Victor Damian Arias. The Argentine will play tight head prop for Bourg en Bresse against Bayonne. Named on the bench for Bayonne are Chilean prop Ramón Ayarza and Argentine winger Martín Bustos Moyano.

Jamie Cudmore’s Aix en Provence will be at home against Béziers. Cudmore’s team will further contribute to the Argentine props as Leandro Mario Assi starts at tight head.

Three further Argentine players will feature on Friday. Starting at hooker for Colomiers will be former Puma Agustín Costa Repetto.  He is to be joined by Sebastián Poet who starts at fly half and Martín Chiappesoni who will cover flanker from the bench. Colliers are at home against Aurillac who have named USA forward Christian Ostberg on their bench.

Week 11 of the Pro D2 will conclude on Sunday. The final fixture of the round sees Charente at home against Biarritz. Line-ups for the match will be confirmed on Saturday afternoon.
