Premiership Rugby Cup – Round 2 Preview

With the English Premiership currently on hold due to international activities English clubs instead turn to play in the Premiership Rugby Cup. This weekend sees round 2 of the competition and there is to be involvement for Americas’ players. The following preview details their involvement.

Later on today the Sale Sharks play host to Saracens. The fixture sees veteran Marcelo Bosch back to full fitness and starting. He is to play in his usual club position of outside center.

On Saturday Bosch’s RWC 2015 teammate Lucas Noguera Paz will start for Bath. Out of favor with the club he will have an opportunity to press for more regular game time. He was Daniel Hourcade’s successor to Marcos Ayerza at loose head prop. Mario Ledesma has other ideas.

Also on Saturday Facundo Gigena will start, doing so for the Leicester Tigers. This sees two Argentine loose head props in the run-on sides in the Premiership Rugby Cup. Uncapped by Argentina, Gigena is a former Jaguar.

On Sunday Eagles’ hardman Paul Lasike will have an opportunity for game time. The starting USA Eagles inside center will play from the bench for the Harlequins against the Newcastle Falcons. Argentine flanker turned hooker Santiago Socino is to start for the Falcons.
