Hourcade To Coach South American XV Against Chile and Paraguay

Daniel Hourcade is to coach the South American XV. The former Head Coach of Los Pumas will be in charge of the Sudamérica XV who are to be a part of the November Internationals playing against Chile and Paraguay.

The team is to consist of players from Argentina, Colombia, and Uruguay. The combined side will give valuable opportunities to fringe players from the Rio de la Plata nations in combination with some of Colombia’s leading talent.

The fixture against Chile it to be a warm-up match for Los Cóndores ahead of their home game against the Maori All Blacks. Paraguay, meanwhile, are to officially enter the November Internationals, with the game against the Sudamérica XV being their only fixture this month.

The Sudamérica XV has played against many different teams over the years. Included are the tests sides from teams ranging from Argentina to England. The upcoming matches are, nonetheless, to be the first matches involving the team since 2015.

The decision to name Daniel Hourcade as Head Coach does not come as a surprise. Following standing down from the Head Coaching position of Los Pumas he took up a High Performance role with Sudamérica Rugby.

Joining Hourcade on the coaching staff will be his former assistant with Los Pumas Emiliano Bergamaschi. On the staff for the game in Santiago vs Chile will be ex Pumas hooker Eusebio Guiñazú and Uruguayan Joaquín Pastore (Uruguay). For Asunción Guillermo Storace (Uruguay), and Miguel Castelli (Argentina) will be on the coaching team.

November 17 Paraguay vs Sudamérica XV, Héroes de Curupaytí, Asunción (5pm local)
