NOLA sign Malcolm May from Penn State

Penn State captain Malcolm May will play for the New Orleans Gold in the 2019 Major League Rugby season. The 22-year-old flanker was a 1st Team Collegiate All-American selection in 2018, having earned High School All-American honors at St. Ignatius in Chicago where has also a star running back and defensive end on the football team.

May is the fourth All-American to be confirmed at NOLA over the past week. Props Kevin Sullivan and Matt Harmon were preceded by flyhalf Nick Feakes. The team has also signed six professionals from abroad, among them Samoa World Cup lock Kane Thompson and former Australia Sevens captain Con Foley.

Also confirmed by the team is the re-signing of US Eagles winger Tim Maupin. He was one of four Gold players representing the USA at the Americas Pacific Challenge, the others front row Cam Falcon, scrumhalf Holden Yungert, and flyhalf JP Eloff.
