Curda Are Champions of Paraguay

Curda are the national club champions of Paraguay for 2018. The Club Universitario de Rugby de Asunción (CURDA) defeated fellow national powerhouses Luque Rugby in a high scoring final to be confirmed as this year’s domestic champions.

Played in front of an impressive crowd of 1,200 at the national rugby stadium – the Héroes de Curupayty CURDA were 60-41 winners. The title winning victory sees the club successfully defending their title. CURDA were champions in both 2016 and 2017.

The two finalists have dominated Paraguayan rugby with Luque being the national champions in 2011, 2014, and 2015. CURDA were winners in 2012 and 2013 as well as in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Cristo Rey’s national title in 2010 is the only time since 2003 that CURDA or Luque have not been national champions of Paraguay.
