NOLA snap up All-American prop duo

Make it two more signings for the New Orleans Gold. Joining the team for the 2019 Major League Rugby season are a pair of All-American props. Matt Harmon arrives from Life University with Kevin Sullivan heading east from the Cal Golden Bears. Both were named 2018 Collegiate All-Americans.

Earning 1st team selection was Harmon, a former high school wrestling standout at Lake Forest in Illinois. The 22-year-old can play across the front row but was most frequently seen wearing the No1 shirt for Life, and was named at No3 for the All-Americans.

Sullivan was a 2nd team All-American in 2018 after earning 1st team honors in 2017. Another capable of playing both sides of the scrum, he was the starting loosehead for the Golden Bears in each of the past two seasons. The former St. Ignatius football lineman is noted for his powerful ball carrying.

The duo will add depth to the Gold front row that was a point of strength in the inaugural 2018 season. Canadian internationals Hubert Buydens and Eric Howard featured prominently alongside US Eagles tighthead Ben Tarr and versatile USA Select XV rep Cam Falcon.
