RFU Championship – Week 7 Preview

With no British & Irish Cup this season it’s business as usual in the RFU Championship. This week there is a surprise name Doncaster in their match at Bedford on Saturday. Paul Mullen is named on the bench, the prop joining the team on dual-registration from Newcastle Falcons. His Eagles teammate Nick Civetta starts at lock for the Knights. The Blues will have an Eagle of their own as Will Hooley makes his full return from injury at flyhalf.

Former Eagles midfielder Ronnie McLean starts for Richmond as they travel to the Trailfinders Club at Vallis Way. Ealing will start Ben Landry in the second row with Argentine fullback Segundo Tuculet set to make his club and Championship debut.

Bryce Campbell will line up at inside center for London Irish. What would traditionally have been a tough game against Yorkshire Carnegie looks less daunting given the latter’s disappointing form. Canadian prop Jake Ilnicki and winger Dan Moor will be doing their best to help steer the ship around.

Two more Canucks will play for the current table-toppers Cornish Pirates. Brett Beukeboom leads out the side with Matt Evans retained on the wing. Shane O’Leary will start at flyhalf for Nottingham on Sunday. Also up against Hartpury is Cam Dolan, who again runs out at lock.
