Top 14 – Week 7 Preview

Week 7 of the Top 14 takes place this weekend. Five matches are to be played on Saturday and two on Sunday. Involved are to be a number of players from the Americas as outlined in the following preview.

In the opening match of Week 7 Patricio Fernández will feature for Clermont. The fly half from Rosario has been named on the bench for the away match against La Rochelle.

The second fixture sees a former Pro D2 classic with Grenoble at home against Bordeaux. The visitors completed the signing of Mariano Galarza this week. He joins the club from Gloucester in the English Premiership.

In Paris Racing 92 will play host to Lyon. Playing for the home side on the left wing will be Juan Imhoff. Lyon are taking two Pumas with them. Francisco Goméz Kodela starts at Tight Head prop while Manuel Carizza will play as a replacement second-rower.

Saturday will close with Toulouse at home against Agen. Starting at Tight Head for Agen will be the USA eligible Dave Ryan. Meanwhile Argentine hooker Facundo Bosch has been named on the bench.

Week 7’s two Sunday matches see the 2018 finalists Castres and Montpellier both at home. Castres will face Stade Français while Montpelier take-on Toulon. Line-ups for both matches will be announced on Saturday afternoon. Not involved will be Benjamín Urdapilleta. The Argentine fly half is out for two months following surgery.
