Americas Rankings – October 04 2018

The Americas Rankings have been updated for October 04 2018. They have been recalculated following the completion of day two of the Sudamérica 4 Naciones B in Guatemala.

In their first test match of the year Peru made history. Their 36-14 victory over Costa Rica officially began international competition between the two countries. In terms of the Americas Rankings the 22 point victory sees the teams trading a maximum gain and loss in points.

The updated Americas Rankings see Peru overtaking St. Vincent & the Grenadines to move from 18th to 16th position. Costa Rica have suffered a notable fall going from to 31.65 to 30.76 points. It sees St. Lucia and Costa Rica trading places.

Not involved in the Sudamérica 4 Naciones B is Venezuela. The country was forced to pull out on the even of the competition due to players failing to obtain visas to travel to Guatemala. This sees Venezuela bering excluded from senior men’s international competition in 2018.

International competition resumes on Saturday. Peru return to play again, this time taking-on Guatemala. In the Rugby Championship Argentina are at home against Australia in Salta. In Uruguay the Americas Pacific Challenge will also begin though teams are ‘A’ sides rather than test line-ups. As such rankings will not be on the line.
