Arrows to play New England Free Jacks in Halifax

Major League Rugby‘s newest team – the Ontario Arrows – will play a friendly against the New England Free Jacks in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Saturday, October 20. The match is slated for a 2pm kickoff at Wanderers Grounds, the same venue that hosted Canada and the USA in June.

Just a week ago New England were confirmed as Boston’s expansion franchise for the 2020 MLR season. This will be their first match under the new banner. The coaching staff and management are still to be revealed. Players are expected to be drawn from several local clubs such as Mystic River, Boston RFC, and Irish Wolfhounds.

The Arrows are Canada’s first professional rugby union team. Based in Toronto, they also feature a handful of players from the Atlantic Rock with New Brunswick’s Cole Keith and Newfoundland’s Patrick Parfrey suiting up against the Glendale Raptors earlier this month. PEI’s Alex Forrest and Nova Scotia’s Cooper Coats played for the team during the spring.

Tickets are available now on the Ticket Halifax website.
