Venezuela In Grave Danger of Missing Sudamérica 4 Naciones B

The historic South American B 4 Nations begins on Sunday. Yet the Four Nations competition may only involve three as Venezuela are in Grave Danger of missing the Sudamérica 4 Naciones B due to players being denied visas to enter Guatemala.

The 2018 Sudamérica 4 Naciones B is the first following rebranding. It replaces the former South American B Championship and sees the coming together of Central and South America with Guatemala and Costa Rica joining Peru and Venezuela in the inaugural competition.

Both Costa Rica and Guatemala qualified by earning promotion from the former South American C Championship. The restructuring also saw Colombia joining Paraguay in the elite level with the Argentina XV, Brazil,  Chile, and the Uruguay XV.

The next best are to compete in the Sudamérica 4 Naciones B yet the competition in Guatemala City may have to be reduced to three. Guatemala is to face Peru on Sunday and Venezuela are scheduled to take-on Costa Rica. But with players denied entrance to Guatemala there is a race against time to enable Venezuela to compete.

Looking to aid Venezuela is Peru. The Peruvian Rugby Union has joined the Guatemalan Rugby Union in pleading for clearance to be given so that they can play in the competition.
