Cam Dolan signs for Nottingham

Cam Dolan’s place in the 2019 Major League Rugby season is now in question. The San Diego Legion star has signed a short-term deal with Nottingham of the RFU Championship. Initially running until the end of October, Nottingham are expected to offer new terms at the end of the November international window that could see him stay in England for at least the rest of the season.

It’s a return to European rugby for the Eagles No8, who had two-year spells at Northampton Saints and Cardiff Blues. Neither could be deemed successful, with Dolan’s playing time limited and split between the back and second rows.

His form in 2018 for club and country has been impressive prompting new overseas interest. Dolan joins seven other USA internationals in the Championship – Will Hooley (Bedford), Nick Civetta (Doncaster), Ben Landry and Andrew Durutalo (Ealing), Bryce Campbell (London Irish), Dino Waldren (London Scottish), and Ronnie McLean (Richmond).
