Moyano In Doubt to Face New Zealand

Ramiro Moyano is in doubt to face New Zealand. Argentina’s starting left winger in the Rugby Championship left the field early through injury in last Saturday’s win over Australia.

Moyano has partnered Bautista Delguy and Emiliano Boffelli in the back-three throughout the Rugby Championship. The trio have been impressive, all scoring tries and creating opportunities for teammates.

Against the Wallabies Moyano did not score though he made multiple line breaks and created a disallowed try for Nicolás Sánchez.

Next up for Argentina is New Zealand in Buenos Aires on Saturday September 29. Mario Ledesma’s 37-man training roster sees the inclusion of the uncapped Matías Osadczuk and the return of Sebastián Cancelliere. Both cover wing and are included with Moyano firmly in doubt.

Moyano suffered a fractured rib against Australia. The expected recovery time for such an injury is three weeks. Against Australia he was replaced by center Bautista Ezcurra with utility Juan Cruz Mallía entering the match in the later stages.

In addition to Moyano the are concerns at flanker. Tomás Lezana is not yet training full contact but is expected to be cleared to face New Zealand. Uncapped Rodrigo Bruni is on the roster though is also not able to train in a full capacity. Meanwhile veteran no 8 Leonardo Senatore is back to full fitness as is Tight Head Enrique Pieretto who joins Ramiro Herrera in boosting the scrum.
