Ainu’u extends Toulouse stay, called into Senior Squad

Junior All-American prop David Ainu’u has signed a new deal with Toulouse that will see him stay with the Top 14 club until at least the end of the 2020-21 season. The Olympia, Washington, native will celebrate his 19th birthday in November but is highly rated by the staff at Ernest Wallon.

The good news continues for the youngster this week as Ainu’u has been named in the senior Toulouse training squad for their Week 5 match against Montpellier. With five props named in the 26-man traveling squad he is not guaranteed to play but looks to be on track for his Top 14 debut in the near future.

Ainu’u signed for Toulouse in December of last year on an Academy deal. He was called into the senior Eagles training squad for the June tests but did not make an appearance, instead turning out for the Junior All-Americans in their u20 Trophy qualifier series against Canada.
