Seamus Kelly to Play MLR for New York

Seamus Kelly is to play Major League Rugby (MLR) for New York, the club has confirmed. The native of New York is the latest signing for the club which will debut in MLR next year.

Capped 23 times by the USA Eagles, Kelly is an impressing signing for Rugby United New York (RUNY). The mid-fielder from Breezy Point, Queens follows the recruitment of fullback Ben Foden (Northampton Saints, UK) and fly half Cathal Marsh (Leinster, IRL).

Kelly is well known to Rugby United New York Head Coach Mike Tolkin. With Tolkin as Head Coach of the USA, Kelly held down a starting position from 2013 to 2015. This included Kelly playing against Samoa, Scotland, and Japan in RWC 2015.
