Top 14 – Week 3 Preview

Week 3 of the Top 14 takes place this weekend in France. After two rounds of the competition it is evident that the season will be one with many twists and turns. In action are players from the Americas, many of whom are fighting for opportunities to play at RWC 2019. The following preview details their involvement this weekend.

There are to be players from the Americas involved in three Saturday fixtures. The first of these is Perpignan vs Lyon. The visitors have named RWC 2011 Puma Manuel Carizza on the bench covering second-row. Francisco Gomez Kodela joins him, covering tight head.

In Paris Racing 92 are looking to turn around their humiliating hammering at home in week 2 against Clermont. They host Agen, a team to have won last weekend. Juan Imhoff will play left wing and captain the Parisians. Colombia’s Andrés Zafra will play his second match for Agen and earn his first start. He will play flanker while also in the team is Facundo Bosch who will be the replacement hooker.

Clermont host Stade Français in a top of the table clash. Involved for the home side will be Patricio Fernández as Clermont’s replacement fly half. Ramiro Herrera starts at tight head for Stade Français. It is just  question of time before both are back playing for Argentina.

Week 3 of the Top 14 will conclude on Sunday. The two league matches see Pau and Castres on the road against Grenoble and Toulon respectively. Argentina, Canada, and Uruguay are all expected to have players involved. Line-ups for these matches will be finalized on Saturday afternoon.
