Top 14 – Week 2 Preview

Week 2 of the 2018-2019 Top 14 season takes place on Saturday and Sunday. A full round of seven league matches will see players from the world over involved. The Americas will be represented in a number of fixtures. Below is a preview detailing those taking to the field from the Western Hemisphere.

On Saturday Uruguay’s Rodrigo Capó Ortega will captain Castres, doing so from second-row. Benjamín Urdapilleta is also to start the match from fly half. In the 2009 November Internationals Urdapilleta toured Europe with Los Pumas. Against Wales he joined Manuel Carizza on the bench. Carizza will make his debut for Lyon this weekend.

In Paris Stade Français host Bordeaux. Playing no 8 will be Sergio Parisse who has had his red card against Perpignan revoked. Ramiro Herrera also starts, doing so at tighthead. He is expected to feature in the Rugby Championship home matches against New Zealand and Australia.

Week 2 of the Top 14 is to also see two Sunday fixtures. Agen and Racing 92 are to be at home against Perpignan and Clermont respectively. Argentine players Juan Imhoff, and Patricio Fernández are expected to be involved.
