Mitre 10 Cup – Week 3 Preview

The third week of the Mitre 10 Cup is underway with two Americas players already seeing action. Eagles cap Mike Sosene-Feagai and Canadian international Evan Olmstead came off the bench for Auckland to play the final quarter in the win over Waikato on Thursday.

On Friday Southland will look to get their first win of the season on the road against Wellington. USA regular Tony Lamborn will again be running out at No8 for the Stags. Uncapped Argentine scrumhalf Nico Costa will again provide backup for New Zealand u20 starter Jay Renton.

Josh Larsen won’t be suiting up for Otago as he continues his recovery from a dislocated elbow suffered in the preseason but there will be one Canadian playing in the second row on Saturday. Tyler Ardron moves from the side of the scrum to the engine room for Bay of Plenty when they host defending champions Canterbury at Tauranga Domain.
