With one of the all-time-greatest displays from a fly half, New Zealand romped to a 28 point victory over Australia this morning. All Black no 10 Beauden Barrett scored four tries for New Zealand who won 40-12 to retain the Bledisloe Cup.
Barrett crossed for tries in the 13th, 37th, 61st, and 70th minutes. His two opening half tries helped the All Blacks to a 14-7 lead. In between Barrett’s scores a try had been scored by Australian scrum-half Will Genia.
In the second half New Zealand scored three further tries before the Wallabies would add to their account. A Reece Hodge try would be all the Australians would be capable of against what was a dominant New Zealand performance. Barrett closed the scoring to score his fourth try.
Australia’s defeat this morning marked back-to-back defeats in the Rugby Championship. It also confirmed the Wallabies as pointless after two rounds of the Rugby Championship. New Zealand have a perfect return of two bonus point victories.
Argentina are to face both teams home-and-away between now and early October. Before turning their attention to the Oceania countries, Los Pumas are to play host to South Africa later on today in Mendoza.
