Summer Cup Highlights – Racing 92 vs Argentina XV

An unlikely match took place in Tbilisi, Georgia on Friday. Top 14 club Racing 92 faced the Argentina XV in the Summer Rugby Cup, a unique tournament bridging seasons, competitions and continents.

It was the second of two matches for both teams. Racing 92 started with a comfortable victory over Brazil while the Argentina XV blew a 15 point lead in falling to the Georgia XV.

In a match dominated by rain, Racing 92 won by 14-8, scoring two tries to one. The Parisian club was captained by Argentine speedster, Juan Imhoff.

Players from Racing 92 are now back in France perorating for the Top 14. Those from the Argentina XV are awaiting selection for Los Pumas or a return to club duty. Imhoff is a name in the frame for Argentina though his next test cap will have to wait until 2019 after the UAR confirmed it will not be enabling Mario Ledesma to select at will from Europe.
