Harlequins confirm Lasike signing

English Premiership club Harlequins have confirmed the signing of US Eagles midfielder Paul Lasike. As reported earlier in the week, the 28-year-old joins on a two-year deal after leading the Utah Warriors to the Semi Finals of the inaugural Major League Rugby season.

The former NFL running back is expected to play a major role in the side as a direct replacement for departed Wales and Lions star Jamie Roberts. He boosts a midfield stable that includes former All Black Francis Saili, Australian international Ben Tapuai, current England training squad member Joe Marchant, and new Scotland cap James Lang.

Lasike has already joined up with his new club and should see his first action during preseason matches later this month. He joins three Eagles teammates in the Premiership – Saracens prop Titi Lamositele, Worcester Warriors hooker Joe Taufete’e, and Sale Sharks flyhalf AJ MacGinty.
