Pichot Named Most Influential Person in Rugby

Agustín Pichot has been named as the most influential person in rugby by Rugby World Magazine. In doing so the publication retained the former Pumas captain as rugby’s most influential person after also having named him in their previous ranking which was two years ago.

The list compiled by Rugby World ranked the 50 most influential people in the sport today. Pichot’s naming at the top of the list is a reflection of his position but more so of his policies. Pichot is actively involved in altering rugby’s structure in ways including the tightening of player eligibility laws and having more competitive RWCs.

Joining Pichot in the Top 14 named by Rugby World are Rassie Erasmus (South Africa Head Coach), Mohed Altrad (Montpellier President), Martin Raftery (World Rugby Head Medic), Joe Schmidt (Ireland Head Coach), Siya Kolisi (South Africa Captain), Steve Hansen (New Zealand Head Coach), Johnny Sexton (Ireland player), Portia Woodman (New Zealand player), and Doddie Weir (ex Scotland player).
