Argentina U19’s Claim Victory over Uruguay U20’s

Argentina’s U19’s claimed victory over Uruguay’s U20’s, winning 39-10 this afternoon in Buenos Aires. The Home side’s victory continues on the solid year of Argentina’s U20’s who finished 6th in the Junior World Championship in France.

Uruguay are preparing for World Rugby’s second Tier U20’s competition. The 2018 Junior World Trophy will take place in Romania in August and September.

Their fixture today against Argentina was preparation for the tournament, a competition in which they will be aiming high.

For Argentina’s U19’s the match was also of vital significance. Argentina will play host to the 2019 Junior World Championship. As such the basis of the team for that tournament was present today against Uruguay’s U20’s.

Argentina’s U19’s were in full control of the scoreboard today at the Hindú club. An early 13-0 lead was established and was never under threat as the game unfolded.

Three second half tries from Argentina U19’s extended the advantage and secured what was a comfortable home victory.

Uruguay played their best rugby in the final stages. Good work saw Los Teritos fighting back to score a try of their own. Yet it would be Argentina who would have the final say. A late try, their fifth of the match, secured a 29 point victory.
