Stockert ruled out of Rugby World Cup Sevens

Just days after being called up to replace the injured Alev Kelter in the Women’s Eagles squad for the Rugby World Cup Sevens, Kelsi Stockert has now been forced out of the tournament after suffering an upper-body injury in training. Kelly Griffin has been flown in as an immediate replacement.

The Women’s Eagles could not have asked for a more experienced player to step in. Griffin was a mainstay for the USA from 2012-2016, playing in the 2013 Sevens World Cup and captaining the side at the Rio Olympics. The 31-year-old played in only one tournament during the 2017-18 season.
