Jaguares and Pumitas on Argentina XV Roster for Georgia

Jaguares and Pumitas are prominent on the Argentina XV roster for the upcoming tour to Georgia. The Argentina XV will play two matches in the Rugby Summer Cup, taking-on Top 14 club Racing 92 and the Georgia XV, the countries national ‘A’ side.

Coached by RWC 1999, 2003 and 2007 Puma Ignacio Fernández Lobbe, the Argentina XV will meet on Monday in Buenos Aires. The following day they will depart to Tbilisi.

The tour will have match dates on July 28 and August 03. The opening day will see the Georgia XV vs the Argentina XV and Racing 92 vs Brazil. Seven days later Racing 92 take-on the Argentina XV and Brazil face the Georgia XV.

Fernández Lobbe and Diego Ternavasio have named a 26-man roster comprised of veterans and newcomers. Regular captain Lautaro Bavaro will lead the side and have support from former Brumbies scrum-half Tomás Cubelli.

Additional names with Super Rugby experience include Diego Fortuny, Ignacio Larrague, and Juan Cruz Mallía. Of them Fortuny and Mallía have received game time for Los Jaguares in 2018.

There are also five Pumitas  on the roster. Mayco Vivas, Santiago Grondona, Leopoldo Herrera, Bautista Daireaux, and Santiago Carreras were all involved in this year’s Junior World Championship in France.
