Argentine dual-international Martín Chiappesoni will stay in the French Pro D2 after signing a deal with Colomiers. The 27-year-old flanker joins from relegated Dax, where he has been a regular starter over the past three seasons. His initial contract is for one year with a further year option.
Originally from the Atlético del Rosario club, one of the oldest in Argentina, Chiappesoni was a Pumitas u20 representative at the 2010 Junior World Championship. He was very quickly adopted into the Pumas Sevens program and spent three seasons on the HSBC circuit. At the same time he was selected for the Argentina ‘A’ side before winning three caps during the 2013 South American Championship.
Chiappesoni has been signed as a direct replacement for departing Tongan international Daniel Faleafa. He joins two of his countrymen at Colomiers. Hooker Agustín Costa Repetto and flyhalf Sebastián Poet are leading members of the side that finished in 9th spot last season.
