Guido Albertario Signs for Spanish Champions

Guido Albertario has signs to play for the reigning Spanish Champions. The Argentine second-rower joins VRAC Quesos Entrepinares from Buenos Aires club Pucará for the 2018-2019 season.

Uncapped by Argentina, Albertario moves to Spain to follow in the footsteps of his brother Jerónimo Albertario. While Jerónimo Albertario played for AMPO Ordizia in the Basque Country, Guido Albertario will play in the heartland rugby city of Valladolid.

VRAC Quesos Entrepinares were the Spanish Champions in 2018. It marked back-to-back titles following their victory in 2017. Dominance from the club also saw national titles in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Rivals El Salvador defeated them in the 2016 final.

Albertario attracted interest from VRAC Quests Entrepinares due to playing for the senior Pucará team for four consecutive seasons. His longterm form now sees him contracted as a professional player.

VRAC Quesos Entrepinares has been home to a number of Argentine players over the years. Yet the arrival of Albertario coincides with the departure of another from Argentina. Returning home is Tomás Carrío who is doing so for personal reasons.
