Chilean international Anton Petrowitsch is to play in England. The Cóndores flanker has completed the move from AA Coimbra in Portugal to join the Rotherham Titans to play in England’s third division.
The Rotherham Titans were relegated from the RFU Championship to the third division for the upcoming season. The club is now rebuilding with an eye to winning promotion back to the RFU Championship, or the Green King IPA Championship for commercial reasons.
England’s third division is a 16 team competition entitled the National League 1. Petrowitsch and the club will begin their campaign on September 01.
The 24-year-old Chilean has 20 caps for his country. He weighs 100kg (220lbs) and stands in at 1.94m (6-4). In the three year history of the Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) Petrowitsch ranks as the country’s leading player.
From COBS club in Santiago, Petrowitsch made his test debut against Brazil in 2014. In addition to his time in Portugal he has prior experience playing in New Zealand for Sumner, and in Spain for Gernika.
