This past Saturday saw Argentina hosting Wales in the second of a two-match series. Having fallen in there first match in San Juan the second game was a chance to turn-around the opening defeat.
The game was literally a must-win for Los Pumas. As it turned out a loss would not be accepted as it would make the requirement of winning two of the three June Internationals impossible. The result saw Daniel Hourcade standing-down. His final test will be this coming Saturday against Scotland in Resistencia.
In both San Juan and Santa Fé Hourcade’s team struggled. Wales were more than to the task both in terms of scoring points and in preventing Argentina from doing so. The series was also underlined by decision making errors and execution blunders from Los Pumas.
