Uruguay made it two wins from two matches in the Nations Cup on Wednesday, downing Emerging Italy. The 23-19 victory saw Los Teros in control throughout the second half. Having previously defeated the Fiji Warriors it means Sunday’s match against the Argentina XV is now a tournament final.
Uruguay are using the Nations Cup to prepare for RWC 2019. The players involved in the matches are the country’s leading names, the exception being several missing after extensive seasons in France.
With the High Performance system now into full swing and players now being paid as professionals there is greater optimism than ever before about Uruguay’s future.
