Civetta signs permanent Doncaster deal

Nick Civetta has signed a permanent deal with the Doncaster Knight for the 2018-19 Greene King Championship season. The US Eagles lock spent a considerable portion of the 2016-17 season with the club while on loan from Newcastle Falcons. In an official club release, Civetta says that game time with a primary consideration for his decision.

“I’m really excited to join Donny full time this season. I’ve grown a lot as a player in the last year, and I credit a lot of that growth to Kendo [Glen Kenworthy] and Clive [Griffiths], so I am excited to be working with them.

“The year before the build up to the World Cup, I think it’s important for me to put myself in a position to potentially get a lot of game time, and that was a major motivation for me in signing with Doncaster.”

Civetta leaves Falcons after two seasons with the Premiership club, during which time he made only four appearance for the senior side, and none during the 2017-18 season. He split his time this past season between Doncaster and Newcastle’s reserve grade side in the Aviva ‘A’ League.
