Segundo Tuculet To Play in England

Segundo Tuculet To Play in England. The 24-year-old Argentine back has departed French club Narbonne to join English side the Ealing Trailfinders. This sees him exiting the Pro D2 side at the competition of his one year contract and opting against his option of an additional season.

Narbonne finished bottom place in the 2017-2018 Pr D2 season. The result sees the club relegated to the Fédérale 1, France’s third division. During his time at the Mediterranean club he scored a memorable 100 meter try against Montauban.

Ealing Trailfinders have signed Segundo Tuculet for the 2018-2019 season. The West London club finished second in the 2017-2018 season behind Bristol. The West Country club won promotion to the English Premiership, trading places with London Irish.

Segundo Tuculet is the younger brother of Joaquín Tuculet, Argentina’s leading fullback and the 2017 Try Scorer of the Year Award winner. Like Joaquín, Segundo Joaquín was involved with Los Jaguares, receiving game time in 2016 at outside center.

With opportunities being so limited at Los Jaguares, Segundo Tuculet was one of a number of Argentina XV players to be scouted from Europe and make the move. His departure for Narbonne came despite him having been a fringe player for Argentina’s senior roster.

In 2017 Segundo Tuculet did not feature in Super Rugby. This saw Emiliano Boffelli, Ramiro Moyano and Bautista Ezcurra joining the Daniel Hourcade regulars as the options. Under Mario Ledesma this year Bautista Delguy and Sebastián Cancelliere have also featured.
