English Premiership – Semi Finals Preview

The Semi Finals stage of the English Premiership season has arrived. On Saturday four teams will compete for the right to compete in the 2018 Aviva Premiership Final at London’s Twickenham Stadium. With RWC players from Argentina, Canada, and the USA all contracted to clubs involved in the final there is plenty to look out for from supporters from the Western Hemisphere.

In the first Semi Final Saracens play host to the Wasps. The fixture used to be a London derby but the Wasps are now based in Coventry in the Midlands. Starting for the home side will be Chris Wyles. For the former Captain America the match is his final game at Allianz Park.

Also involved for Saracens will be two South Americans. The RWC 2011 and 2015 Pumas pairing of Juan Figallo and Marcelo Bosch have both been named among the replacements. Earlier this week Figallo signed a new deal to remain at Saracens until 2021. Both players are contenders for places in Argentina’s Rugby Championship roster this year.

In the second Semi Final the reigning champions, the Exeter Chiefs play host to the Newcastle Falcons at Sandy Park. Canadian international Evan Olmstead starts at flanker for the visitors while brothers Juan Pablo Socino and Santiago Socino will feature as replacements. Santiago Cordero misses out for the Chiefs.
