Figallo Extends Stay at Saracens

Juan Figallo has extended his stay at Saracens. The Argentine tighthead has agreed to terms to remain at the English Premiership club until 2021.

Now aged 30, Figallo has been playing for Saracens since 2014. He joined the London-based club from Montpellier, whom he played for from 2009-2014.

Since joining Saracens, Figallo has made 88 appearances. During his time he has won both the English Premiership and the European Champions Cup.

For Argentina, Figallo has won 24 caps. These include appearances at RWCs 2011 in New Zealand and 2015 in England and Wales. At RWC 2011 he was named as the best player in Pool B, a group also containing England, Georgia, Romania and Scotland.

A third RWC is likely now for the man from Salta. He is regarded as Argentina’s best tighthead but has not played for his country since RWC 2015. The reason for this is Argentina’s selection policy over this period. With the union now to allow foreign-based players back into Los Pumas more caps are a certainty.
