Chicago has landed a special November Triple Header. The iconic home of the Chicago Bears, Soldier Field will play host to three international matches on November 03, two of which involve both the Men’s and Women’s Eagles.
The USA Women’s Eagles will play in the opening fixture, taking on New Zealand. The fixture will be a monumental celebration for the Women’s game, with new ground set to be broken. It will see the 2017 World Cup winning Black Fearns having the opportunity of playing at a 61,500 capacity venue.
Match two will see Ireland taking-on Italy. The two Six Nations countries have been regulars in the USA over the past decade. Their match-up, though, will be a first outside of RWCs on neutral territory. It follows a 2016 match between Ireland and New Zealand in Chicago.
The third match will see the USA Men’s Eagles taking on the Maori All Blacks. The international will not count as a test match due to the New Zealand side not being the official test side of the All Blacks.
The match-up will put the sides together for the third since in six years. In 2013 the USA Eagles came close to defeating the Maori All Blacks, losing 29-19 in Philadelphia. The following year the teams met in Chicago with the Maori All Blacks winning by an impressive 44-7.
