Charity Williams named to Langford Dream Team

Charity Williams has been named to the official HSBC Dream Team for the Langford Sevens. The Canadian speedster scored five tries during the tournament including the game winner against Ireland in the pool stages to secure Canada’s spot in the Cup Quarter Finals.

Joining her in the backs are Montserrat Amédée of France, Fijian playmaker Luisa Tisolo, and New Zealand winger Michaela Blyde. The forwards named are Ireland’s Stacey Flood, Australia’s Evania Pelite, and the tournament’s outstanding player Portia Woodman of New Zealand.

Left out despite excellent individual performances are a pair of North Americans. Canada’s Bianca Farella led the tournament in tries and was a dominant runner throughout, while the USA’s Alev Kelter impressed on both sides of the ball. Budding star Bianca Silva is another player of note, the 20-year-old scoring five tries in Brazil’s five matches.
