Super Rugby 2018 – Chiefs vs Jaguares Match Highlights

The 11th match for Los Jaguares in the 2018 Super Rugby season took place earlier today. The Argentine side played away against the Chiefs, the 2012 and 2013 champions.

The match brought to an end the team’s four match tour to Oceania. In what will go down as historic, Los Jaguares won all four matches claiming wins over the Rebels, Brumbies, Blues and Chiefs.

Today’s victory saw Los Jaguares becoming the first team to win back-to-back matches in New Zealand for four years. The last team to do so was the Sharks in 2014. Australian sides have not won consecutive matches in New Zealand since 2013.

The win may have come a a cost. Stand-in captain Joaquín Tuculet was forced off mid match. He has started at fullback in all but one match this season under Mario Ledesma.

Playing Super Rugby for the first time today were Santiago Medrano and Juan Cruz Mallía. Both players earned call-up’s from Ledesma following Los Jaguares’ matches in Australia.
