English Premiership – Week 22 Preview

The regular season of the English Premiership comes to a close on Saturday. Week 22 will be played with London Irish already confirmed as the bottom side. The Exiles have been relegated back to the second division for next season.

With it being the final round all six matches are to be played simultaneously. Saracens and the Exeter Chiefs are already assured of home advantage in the Semi Finals. Their opponents will depend on the outcome of Week 22 – determining who faced the Wasps and who faces the Newcastle Falcons.

Playing for Bath for the final time this season will be Lucas Noguera Paz.The RWC 2011 Puma starts at loosehead against London Irish. His move to England has seen him featuring regularly though Santiago García Botta is arguably now Argentina’s leading loosehead.

Playing right wing for the Exeter Chiefs against the Harlequins will be Santiago Cordero. Like Noguera Paz, Cordero left Los Jaguares to play in England this season. He is currently negotiating terms to remain at the club for an additional two seasons.

Up in Newcastle the Falcons face the Wasps in the match of the round. featuring for the home side will be Canadian international Evan Olmstead and Argentina’s Socino brothers. Olmstead starts the match in the second-row with the inside center position going to Juan Pablo Socino. Featuring from the bench will be Santiago Socino, covering hooker.

Also covering hooker will be Joe Taufete’e. The Californian is fit again just in time to end the English club season and prepare for international duty for the USA Eagles in June. He will wear the 16 shirt against the Northampton Saints.

Also expected to feature for the Eagles next month is AJ MacGinty. He will start again this weekend at fly half doe the Sale Sharks. Joining MacGinty in the run-on line-up will be Marland Yarde. From St. Lucia, Yarde is capped by England.

Lastly, in northern London Saracens are to host Gloucester. Starting at outside center for the home side will be Marcelo Bosch. Both he and Juan Figallo are well positioned to return to Los Pumas this year. Fugal starts at tighthead prop against Gloucester. Former USA captain, Chris Wyles will cover the back-three from the bench.
