Pro 14 – Week 21 Preview

The Pro 14 continues this weekend with week 21 of the season. In what is the penultimate round of the regular season all seven matches are to be played on Saturday. It is derby weekend with all team’s playing against a side from their same country.

The derby weekend sees many teams looking to field as many locals as possible. Some Americas players will not feature as a result. One who will in Ireland is the USA eligible Callum Black. He starts at loosehead against Munster.

In Wales it is Judgement Day on Saturday. That means a double-header at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium. The Dragons face the Scarlets following by the Cardiff Blues taking-on the Ospreys. There will be a Canada vs USA clash on one wing as Jeff Hassler starts on the right wing for the Ospreys and Blaine Scully on the left wing for the Cardiff Blues.

Also involved in part two of Judgement Day is Hanno Dirksen. He will play left wing for the Ospreys. A former USA age-grade representative, Dirksen turned down playing for the USA at RWC 2011. He did so in an effort to be capped by Wales. Seven years later he remains uncapped and no longer eligible for the USA.

In Italy former Argentina XV tighthead Eduardo Bello will feature. Bello has been named on the bench for Zebre who taken-on Benetton Treviso in the final match between the Italian sides this season.

In Scotland Edinburgh host the Glasgow Warriors. The teams are to battle it out at Murrayfield on Saturday evening. The starting wingers for the visitors are to be Tennessee’s Scottish international Tommy Seymour and Canadian international DTH van ver Merwe.
