Argentina XV Name Youth and Experience for Sudamericano 6 Naciones

Argentina XV Head Coach Felipe Contepomi has named both youth and experience in his roster for the Sudamericano 6 Naciones. Starting on May 05, the Argentina XV will begin their quest to win the rebranded South American A Championship.

Contepomi’s team begin with an away match against Paraguay in Asunción. For the contest the former Pumas captain has confirmed the match-day squad of 23 players.

Nine of the players have prior experience in the Argentina XV. Of them notably are Pumas Tomás Cubelli and Benjamín Macome. Jaguares fly half Joaquín Díaz Bonilla is also included with Juan Cruz González being the other option for fly half.

The Argentina XV’s best find from the 2018 Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) was Santiago Resino. The outside center is is included in the roster and will be a dangerous attacker against Los Yácares.

Newcomers to the Argentina XV include Nicolás Walker, Nahuel Milán, José Luis González, and Facundo Ferrario. All four played for Los Pumitas at the 2017 Junior World Championship in Georgia.

Meanwhile there are also opportunities for 2018 Pumitas. Of those set to play in this year’s World Rugby u20’s in France Rodrigo Fernández Criado, Francisco Liotta, Santiago Gilligan, Julián Martín, Federico Parnas, Luciano Santángelo, and Juan Cruz Rodriguez Herrera have been included to play against Paraguay.

In addition Contepomi has included Exequiel Alegre Chedid a player who just a few weeks ago played for Argentina u18’s at the World Schools Festival. While, lastly Facundo Cordero and Manuel Bustinduy are newcomers for their country altogether.
