Eagles women ready for Kitakyushu

The HSBC Women’s Sevens Series returns this weekend after a three-month hiatus. Joining the USA in Kitakyushu are 11 other teams, including five who were participants in last weekend’s Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia.

Four players will make their first appearance of the 2017-18 circuit. Olympic captain Kelly Griffin is joined by 2017 World Cup tourists Kristen Thomas and Kate Zackary. Set to make her debut in Japan is 21-year-old Neariah Persinger from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Currently in 5th spot overall after two tournaments, the Eagles are paired with New Zealand, France, and hosts japan in Pool B. All matches can be watched live on The Rugby Channel.
