The Melbourne Rebels hosted Los Jaguares in a seventh round Super Rugby fixture earlier today. For the visitors it was their second appearance in the Australian city, the prior one having been in the final round of 2017.
As was the case in 2017 the South American team went to Melbourne and came away with a tight victory. Their win today was their third of the 2018 season and comes at a much needed time. Los Jaguares are to play the Brumbies next weekend and then face the Blues and Chiefs in New Zealand over subsequent weekends.
Against the Rebels, Los Jaguares overcame both jet lag and a sizable deficit. Having been down by three tries to zero, Pablo Matera’s team rebounded to complete a memorable victory.
