Week 20 of the Guinness Pro 14 Championship takes place this weekend. The league matches in the latest round are to be split over Friday and Saturday. Players from the Americas are to take to the fields on both match days.
On Friday Canadian flier DTH van der Merwe starts for the Glasgow Warriors. He is to do so on the left wing in the Scottish side’s home match against Connacht. Playing on the right wing will be Tennessee speedster Tommy Seymour who plays his international rugby for Scotland.
In Belfast, Northern Ireland Jeff Hassler will start for the Ospreys. The Canadian had a strong match last weekend, scoring a 95-meter try in Swansea. Joining him in the starting line-up is former USA age-grade representative Hanno Dirksen. The South African-born Dirksen is no longer eligible for the Eagles. A player that is eligible is Callum Black. He starts at Loose Head for Ulster.
On Saturday former Argentina XV prop Eduardo Bello starts at Tight Head for Zebre. He does so in the Italian side’s home match against Welsh strugglers the Dragons. Also involved will be Serafin Bordoli, the Argentine has been named as Zebre’s reserve fly half.
In South Africa USA Eagles captain Blaine Scully will start for the Cardiff Blues. Scully has been named to play on the left wing for the Welsh region’s away match against the Southern Kings in Port Elizabeth.
