English Premiership – Week 20 Preview

Week 20 of the English Premiership will be played this weekend. The competition, known as the Aviva Premiership, is currently being rebranded with a new sponsor and naming rights on the way. Meanwhile the season continues with a further round to be played. Involved are a number of Americas’ players.

The opening fixture sees the Newcastle Falcons at home against the Sale Sharks. The battle of the north sees two teams enjoying better seasons than in recent years. In order to continue the march towards the play-offs a win is required.

Argentina, Canada, St. Lucia and the USA are all to be represented in the week 20 opener. Juan Pablo Socino starts at inside center for Newcastle while AJ MacGinty will play fly half for Sale. Also starting the match is Marland Yarde, a Caribbean-born English international. Newcastle have a bench containing both Canadian forward Evan Olmstead and Argentine hooker Santiago Socino.

There will be no involvement from the Americas on Saturday. On Sunday, however, the two league matches are to both feature Western Hemisphere players. At the Madejski Stadium in Reading Santiago Cordero starts on the left wing for the Exeter Chiefs. They are looking to march on to secure a home Semi Final.

The final match sees Saracens at home to Bath. History will be made with Chris Wyles making his 250th club appearance for Saracens. Juan Figallo also starts for Saracens. The players are to start on the left wing and at Tight Head respectively. Featuring for Bath as a replacement will be Lucas Noguera Paz. He and Figallo could well be a combination used by Daniel Hourcade this year for Los Pumas.
