Ratu Tagive re-signs for Glasgow Warriors

US-eligible winger Ratu Tagive has extended his stay at Glasgow Warriors for a further two seasons. Younger brother of current Eagles Sevens extended squad member Peni Tagive, the pair were born in Australia to American and Fijian parents. Peni, 29. was a professional rugby league player and also played collegiate football for Baylor University in Texas.

Ratu, 26, arrived in Scotland on a one-year deal with Glasgow in November 2016. He was then extended for a further season in June 2017. Despite appearing in only five Guinness Pro Championship matches in his two seasons with the club he has impressed the coaching staff enough while on loan with Currie in the Scottish Premiership to earn a new deal.

Tagive trained with the Australia Sevens squad before departing for Scotland but remains eligible to represent the USA or Fiji having not appeared for the senior Australian side. He will qualify to represented Scotland when he completes his three-year residency requirements in November 2019.
