O’Leary moves from Ealing to Nottingham

Shane O’Leary will be moving bases once again next season. The Canadian international flyhalf will leave Ealing Trailfinders for another Greene King IPA Championship club. On Wednesday Nottingham confirmed they have signed O’Leary to a one-year deal.

This will be the third professional club in three years for the 25-year-old, who left Connacht in 2017 after spending three seasons with the Guinness Pro 14 side. He signed for Ealing in September but has seen his season severely disrupted by an ankle injury that ruled him out of three months of action.

Nottingham are currently in 10th spot on the Championship table but with five games to play on their schedule are only 13 points behind 6th-place Yorkshire Carnegie. They are not in danger of relegation as Rotherham has already been confirmed for the drop.
