Hooley signs Bedford Blues extension

Goal-kicking flyhalf Will Hooley will be staying in the Greene King IPA Championship for another year. The new Eagles cap has signed a one-year contract extension with Bedford Blues, who he joined from Aviva Premiership club Exeter Chiefs ahead of the 2017-18 season.

A former England u20 international, Hooley qualifies for the USA through a grandmother from California. He made his first Eagles appearance against the Argentina XV in this year’s Americas Rugby Championship and won his first cap as a replacement against Canada.

Hooley, 24, has made a big impression in his first season with the Blues. To date he has played 17 games across all competitions, scoring 117 points from the boot.

Bedford are currently in 3rd spot in the Championship table and have four games remaining in their season, after which Hooley is set to join the Eagles for their June test series.
