Chile Ready for Hong Kong

Chile is ready for Hong Kong. Los Cóndores 7’s Head Coach Edmundo Oleos has named a 12-man roster for the biggest Rugby Sevens annual tournament – the Hong Kong Sevens. This year’s edition will be played from April 06-08.

Back in the roster is captain Felipe Brangier. He returns from a broken leg while also back for Los Cóndores 7’s is Rodrigo Fernández. He missed the 2018  Punta del Este and Viña del Mar 7’s, South America’s two premier competitions.

Another inclusion comes in the form of Martín Vallejos. The Old Reds club player has been out of the picture since the 2016 Beach Rugby Juegos Bolivarianos in Iquique.

Not included are Nicolás Garafulic and Franco Valarde. Galafuric is to instead play for Chile’s u20’s side in the South American Junior Championship in Asunción, Paraguay. Meanwhile Velarde is busy on club duty for Barcelona in the División de Honor.

In Hong Kong Chile will play in Group E. They are to take on Japan, Georgia and Uganda.
